A battery check before you decide what to do
If you are concerned about starting performance, the battery’s age or how the vehicle is coping with infrequent use, a battery health test can give you useful information. Tell us about the symptoms and any recent charging, jump-starting or replacement when you enquire.
We assess the 12V battery’s condition and explain the result, including advice on charging or replacement where appropriate. A printed summary gives you a record of the check. The result reflects the battery’s condition at the time; it cannot guarantee that a battery will never fail later.
Testing is different from a replacement service
This service is a battery health check. We do not promise battery supply, fitting, coding, roadside recovery or an emergency call-out as part of the advertised test. If replacement or further investigation is needed, we explain the next step so you can arrange suitable work.
Starting and electrical problems are not always caused by the battery alone. A health check does not, by itself, rule out a charging-system fault, wiring issue or a drain when the vehicle is parked. If the symptoms point beyond the battery, further investigation may be required.

This is a 12V battery check, not a capacity or health assessment of a hybrid or electric vehicle’s high-voltage traction battery. Contact us before arranging a visit for a hybrid or electric vehicle so we can confirm what is appropriate.
Battery testing can be arranged individually, or alongside a diagnostic scan and air-con recharge in the £99.99 Chill & Check package. Any additional work and travel costs are agreed before booking.

We operate from Great Heck and arrange visits around Selby and Goole. Tell us your postcode and whether the vehicle will be at home or work. We need a suitable location and safe access to the vehicle; availability is confirmed by the team.

Is battery replacement included?
No. The advertised service covers testing, results and advice. Battery supply, fitting and coding are not included in the test or the Chill & Check package.
Does this test an electric car’s main battery?
No. The service is for the 12V battery, not the high-voltage traction battery. Please confirm suitability for your vehicle before booking.
Can I book a battery test without an air-con recharge?
Yes. Send your registration and postcode for an individual-service quote and to confirm availability.
Do you offer a free battery test?
The 12V battery test is included at no additional test charge in the paid £99.99 Chill & Check package. Standalone tests are quoted; there is no unconditional free test or free test with every other service.
