What a diagnostic scan can tell you
A scan reads information and fault codes from the onboard computers that our equipment can access on your vehicle. It can help identify the system reporting a problem and give you a useful starting point for deciding what needs investigation next.
A fault code is not, by itself, proof that a particular part needs replacing. The cause may need additional checks by a suitable repairer. Our service includes a report to keep, so you have the findings available when discussing any next steps. It is not a full mechanical inspection or a guarantee that the vehicle has no faults.
Engine management and airbag warning lights
We offer fault-code reading and appropriate engine management and airbag warning-light resets. A reset is carried out only where appropriate and supported. If the underlying problem remains, the light may stay on or return.
Clearing a stored code does not repair the cause or establish that a safety system works correctly. Tell us what the light is doing, whether the vehicle behaves differently and whether any repairs have already been made. Follow the vehicle handbook’s instructions for warning lights and ask for advice before continuing to use a vehicle with a safety-related fault.
A printed report, with clear next steps
Diagnostic coverage varies by make, model and system. We confirm what can be checked from your vehicle details and explain any limitations. We do not advertise a universal dealer-level diagnosis, coding service or guaranteed access to every module.

For a service light reset, tell us the exact model and what maintenance has been completed. Compatibility and whether the reset is appropriate must be checked first. Resetting the reminder does not carry out the scheduled service or confirm that it has been done.

Can you reset my engine management light?
Where appropriate and supported by the vehicle, yes. If an active fault remains, the reset may not work or the light may return. Clearing the light does not repair the fault.
Do I get a printed diagnostic report?
Yes, printed diagnostic findings from accessible onboard systems are available to keep. The Chill & Check package includes printed results.
Can a scan identify every problem?
No. Coverage varies by vehicle and some faults require physical or specialist testing. A scan is a starting point, not a complete mechanical inspection.
