Nearby towns with different booking locations
Pontefract, Knottingley, Featherstone, Darrington and Ackworth sit within our wider local patch. Send the postcode for the place you actually want the work done. A nearby town name helps start the conversation, but the address and access determine whether a mobile appointment is practical.
If you live near Pontefract Castle or have parking off a narrow street, describe the space available beside your vehicle. We need a permitted working location rather than a roadside meeting point. There is no advertised local workshop to visit without an appointment.
Air con servicing for the family car or van
Our air con regas service supports suitable R134a and R1234yf systems. We confirm the refrigerant and specification from your vehicle details, recover the existing charge, draw a vacuum and recharge a serviceable system before checking performance.
If the vehicle is being prepared for a trip, contact us in advance rather than leaving an enquiry until departure day. Mention any existing fault or recent work. Repeated loss of cooling needs investigation; another recharge does not repair a leak or failed part.
Diagnostics with an explanation of the findings
An engine management warning can cover several possible causes. We read accessible onboard systems and provide a printed diagnostic report, so you can discuss the findings with a repairer if necessary. A code names a recorded problem, not automatically the part to replace.
Appropriate engine management and airbag warning-light resets depend on the vehicle and fault status. We do not clear a warning as a substitute for a repair. General mechanical servicing, replacement parts and recovery are outside the advertised specialist visit.
Check the battery during the same appointment
The 12V battery test looks at battery condition and provides advice. It can be useful if the car has started slowly, stood for a while or recently needed assistance. Let us know whether the battery has been charged, disconnected or replaced.
For a van parked in a yard or workplace, ask permission and tell us about gates and delivery movements. Safe space and access matter even on a short local journey. Availability and the agreed work are confirmed by the team before the booking is made.
Your quote from Great Heck

Do you cover Featherstone and Ackworth too?
Yes, enquiries from both are welcome. We check the actual address and safe working space before confirming the visit, rather than applying one town-wide travel assumption.
Can I book just diagnostics in Pontefract?
Yes. Individual diagnostics, air con and battery-testing visits can be quoted. The £99.99 Chill & Check price is for the combined package, subject to suitability and any agreed extras.
